About COIAA
Central Oregon Internal Arts Association was formed in July 2006 to promote the understanding, awareness and knowledge of the traditional Chinese internal arts in the central Oregon area. The internal arts are composed of the following three branches: T'ai Chi Ch'üan (Tai Chi or Taiji), Bāguàzhǎng (Bagua) and Xingyiquan (Hsing-I) with each branch having its own study of Qigong or energy breathing work. The three branches all adhere to the precepts of respecting the energy of others and of not meeting force with force. The internal arts are characterized by being soft and relaxed and focusing on developing internal energy.
In the Fall of 2008 COIAA officially disbanded and we are no longer selling memberships for belonging or using the website to find classes or instructors. The website will remain active and the class and instructor lists will be as current as we can keep them.
